Buford Man Arrested On 2 Charges Of Child Exploitation
The 29-year-old Buford resident was arrested by the Gwinnett County Police Department on Thursday, April 2.
BUFORD, GA — Evans Charles Rider, a 29-year-old Buford resident, was arrested on two charges of electronic pornography and child exploitation, according to a Georgia Bureau of Investigation statement released Friday.
Rider was arrested on April 2 by Gwinnett County police after having a sexually explicit online conversation with someone he believed to be a juvenile. According to county records, Rider is still being held at the county jail without bond.
The investigation was conducted by the state bureau's Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit as part of an ongoing efforts by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

"The ICAC Program, created by the U. S. Department of Justice, was developed in response to the increasing number of children and teenagers using the Internet, the proliferation of child pornography, and the heightened online activity by predators searching for unsupervised contact with underage victims," the statement said.
