Buford Readies for Back to School: Calendars, Supply Lists and More
Summer break is almost over for Buford children. Are you ready?
In several weeks, thousands of school children living in Gwinnett County will be headed back to school. Here's a few things parents need to know.
First Day of School:
There are several school districts spanning Buford: Buford City Schools, Gwinnett County and Hall County.
- Buford City Schools -- August 7 start date (full calendar)
- Gwinnett County -- August 7 start date (full calendar)
- Hall County -- August 12 start date (full calendar)
Meal Prices Higher:
Do not forget that GCPS meal prices have increased. Elementary school lunch is $2.25, and middle school and high school lunch is $2.50. (Apply online for free or reduced meals.) Other school meal information:
Supply Lists:
Most likely your child's school has supply lists available. We've listed several below. If your child's school is not listed here, be sure to check the school's website, or call the front office.
Tax-Free Weekend:
Georgia's tax-free weekend is August 9-10. Clothing with a sales price of $100 or less per item is included. Click here for a complete list of what's on the tax-free list.
