Celebrate Autumn's Arrival at Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center
Families can learn about how plants and animals prepare for winter.

Celebrate Autumn’s Arrival at the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center in Buford during Saturdays Sept. 7, 8, 14, 15, 22, 28, and 29.Â
The Autumnal Equinox on Sept. 22 this year marks the end of summer and the beginning of the fall season. Days and nights become equal length, according to the GEHC.
The flurry of life in the spring and summer slows down in the fall, preparing for the quiet of winter. Fall is also known as the harvest season. The last of the year’s crops are harvested and stored to maintain life through the colder months. Both plants and animals are busy preparing for this seasonal time of transition. Families can come learn about how plants and animals work hard, yet slow down during the fall at the center.
