Fatal Crash Closes Portion Of I-985: Gwinnett Police

A portion of I-985 northbound was closed down Wednesday morning due to a fatal crash. It has since been reopened.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A traffic crash on I-985 in Buford temporarily shut down a portion of the highway, according to Gwinnett County police.

A tweet from the police department around 7:40 a.m. says the crash was fatal.

Authorities shut down I-985 northbound just south of Buford Drive.

Police suggested a detour, but then tweeted around 9:20 a.m. that the road has reopened.
