“Star Spangled Fourth is one of our favorite events to share with the community,” said Carol Cox, director of marketing and business development at Mall ofGeorgia. “Mall of Georgia is such a social gathering place for friends and families of all ages, and it has been wonderful to see how this celebratory event has truly become a Gwinnett tradition.”
Starting at 5 p.m., the Village Kids Zone will open to festive families and pint-sized patriots looking for some Fourth of July action. There will be a special appearance by Captain America and Wonder Woman, along with various activities and games galore, including bounce houses, rock climbing, cornhole, water balloon toss, Tarot Card readers and the chance to win prizes from participating Mall of Georgia stores! “All day pay” wristbands for the bounce houses are available for $20, and Rock Wall tickets are available for $5 (cash only). Hungry attendees of all ages can also enjoy a variety of summer snack options, including Taco Mac Beer Garden, Bruce’s Sweet Sensations, Fast Frankie’s Lemonade, Kettle Corn, Popo’s Boiled PNuts, Saucehouse BBQ, Skips Hawaiian Shaved Ice and more.
Shoppers who are members of Mall of Georgia’s Simon Rewards loyalty program will even be eligible to win instant prizes during the Fourth of July weekend, including $25-$100 gift cards, reserved parking and exclusive store offers. To help fire up the famed festivities, free concerts at the Village Amphitheatre featuring the Joe Hall Band and The Woody’s will keep the crowd rockin’ with live tunes from 5 – 9:30 p.m. Then, after a special singing of the National Anthem by Mallory Green, the fireworks extravaganza will wow the crowd. Throughout the evening, attendees can also show off their patriotic pride by purchasing a small American flag for $1 in support of the Simon Youth Foundation, which helps at-risk youth achieve success through scholarships and other educational opportunities.
The fun-filled festivities don’t end with the fireworks finale! As part of its Movies Under the Stars series, Mall of Georgia invites guests to stay after the show for a free post-fireworks viewing of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” (rated PG-13) on a 70-foot big screen in the parking lot across from Dick’s Sporting Goods. This grand outdoor cinema showcase is the perfect way to end the special celebration with fellow friends and loved ones. As always, guests are encouraged to get comfortable and bring blankets and lawn chairs. Don’t miss out on all the patriotic fun – grab the whole family and experience this Fourth of July tradition!
