Google's "Frightgeist" ranks the top internet searches for Halloween costumes. What's No. 1 in U.S., Atlanta?

Have you decided on a Halloween costume this year?

If not, Google Frightgeist has some suggestions for you.

Using search data from Google Trends, the tool shows you what the most popular costume searches are nationally and close to home.

According to Frightgeist, superhero is No. 1 in New York, but not in Meridian, Miss, where “Wizard of Oz”” character Dorothy is tops, nor in Twin Falls, Idaho, where Tinker Bell gets the most traffic.

In Georgia, pirate is No. 1 in Atlanta, and Augusta favors Spider-Man, but Savannah prefers Spider-Girl.

Nationally, ”Batman” character Harley Quinn is the No. 1 Google search.

Lower on the list are Minions (8th), Maleficent (16th), Captain America (44th), firefighter (82nd), Barbie (92nd), Scooby-Doo (101st), Donald Trump (105th).

The National Retail Federation’s 2015 Halloween Consumer Top Costumes Survey says hundreds of thousands of Americans already have their wardrobe picked out for this Halloween season.

The survey, conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics, shows princess attire tops the list for children’s costumes for the 11th year in a row, while popular characters from movies such as ”Star Wars” and ”Frozen” top lists across the board.

“About one in 10 Halloween celebrants (12.9%) plan to dress their furry friends in costumes this year, and of the 80 percent of those surveyed who have already selected the costume, most (10.6%) will choose a little round pumpkin for Kitty and Rover,” according to the NRF website.

”Additionally, several pet owners will opt to put their four-legged friend in a “Star Wars” (8th on the list) or Minion costume (11th) .”
