Gov. Deal To Sign State Budget in Gwinnett
Buford will be one of several stops Deal makes on a signing tour of the state Monday.

BUFORD, GA -- Gov. Nathan Deal will make a stop in Gwinnett County on Monday, as he tours Georgia signing the state budget into law.
At 9 a.m. Monday, Deal will hold a signing ceremony in the media center of Lanier High School in Buford.
It will be one of four signings Deal conducts, at locations highlighting state spending priorities from Gainesville to Brunswick.

The General Assembly this year approved a record $23.7 billion budget for the coming fiscal year.
It includes 3% raises for the state's teachers and most other government employees. Law enforcement agents, like state troopers and Georgia Bureau of Investigation employees, will see a 6% raise.

Other priorities in the budget include $1.5 billion for new road, bridge and other construction.

- 8:15 a.m. Hall County, Future site of Lanier Technical College
- 9 a.m. Buford, Lanier High School
- 1:30 p.m., Brunswick, Altama Plantation
- 3:45 p.m., Dalton, Georgia Department of Transportation office
