Gwinnett County Property Tax Payments Due Oct. 3

Total amount of tax bills due on this date.

Payments for 2013 property tax bills are due Thursday, Oct. 3, for residents of Gwinnett County including Buford. The total amount is due on that date.

The county government portion of the property tax bill looks different this year. State law requires that cities and counties operate under a service delivery strategy agreement that defines services provided by each jurisdiction and sets out how those services are funded. There are several ways to make property tax payments:

  • Pay online by check, credit or debit card at www.GwinnettTaxCommissioner.com. (Paying by check is free; debit card: $3.95 flat fee; credit card: 2.29 percent convenience fee)
  • Mail payments to P.O. Box 372, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
  • Pay by check using drop boxes 24 hours a day at all Tax Commissioner offices.
  • Pay in person during business hours at all Tax Commissioner offices.

For property owners with an escrow account, tax information will be made available to the mortgage company; however, it is ultimately the responsibility of the property owner to ensure taxes are paid by the due date. If there are questions about who will pay the taxes, homeowners should contact their mortgage company directly, especially if their mortgage company has recently changed.

To see 2013 tax amounts, access property tax information at www.GwinnettTaxCommissioner.com or contact the office at Tax@gwinnettcounty.com or 770-822-8800.
