- Every city in Georgia is listed on the top border of the wall that wraps around the mall.
- The fountain near Macy’s was designed to look like the Forsyth Fountain in Savannah.
- The Food Court replicates Union Station, one of Atlanta’s famous buildings. It was the main post-Civil War train terminal for Atlanta.
- The big statue on top of the Mall of Georgia is of Button Gwinnett, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Gwinnett County is named for him although he never set foot in the county.
