Korie Rogers, Christana Landress to Appear in U.S. Army All-American Bowl

Rogers will play in the game. Landress will perform with the color guard.

Buford High School Wolves Linebacker Korie Rogers was selected to play in the 2014 U.S. Army All-American Bowl Jan. 4 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX. Christana Landress, also of Buford HS, will be performing with the Color Guard at the bowl game.

Landress was presented with an honorary band jacket in a ceremony at the school last Friday (Sept. 27).

The annual East vs. West match-up will be televised live on NBC at 1 p.m. EST and will feature the nation’s top 90 high school football players  and 125 band and color guard members

“Rogers is a talented athlete whose leadership and teamwork qualities have made him a standout at Buford High School,” said Mark Davis, deputy assistant Secretary of the Army for Marketing in a news release.

“The U.S. Army have a distinguished musical history,” Davis also said. “It takes great skill, teamwork and dedication to be a successful band member just as it does to be an Army Soldier.”

As a result of Rogers being selected to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, Buford Wolves Head Football Coach Jess Simpson has been invited to travel to San Antonio and attend the U.S. Army Coaches Academy and Bowl Week activities.

For more than 13 years, the U.S. Army All-American Bowl has served as a launching pad for America’s future college and NFL stars.

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is owned and produced by All American Games, a New Jersey-based sports marketing and event management company. The U.S. Army is the title sponsor of the bowl, and American Family Insurance the lead national sponsor and presenting sponsor of the telecast on NBC.
