Lake Lanier Voted Among the South's Greatest

Lake Lanier may be just a man-made reservoir, but don't tell that to the folks who love it.

In a recent edition of Southern Living, Lake Lanier is listed as No. 15 out of 20 destinations as one of the South's greatest lakes.

This is what the magazine had to say about Lake Lanier: "Breathe deeply, and let yourself unwind. Lake Lanier Islands, a lovely resort just 30 minutes north of Atlanta, has everything you'll need for a cool summer getaway."

Other bodies of water that made the list include:

• Lake Rabun, Northern Georgia
• Lake Oconee
• Pine Mountain
