Lanier Children's Garden Opens June 5

Master gardeners Rosalie Tubre and Winnie White to teach children's organic gardening classes on Wednesdays.

Buford children ages 5-12 can learn about organic gardening in the Lanier Children’s Garden opening Wednesday, June 5.

Master gardeners Rosalie Tubre And Winnie White will teach the children’s organic gardening class from 10 to 11 a.m. June 5 and each Wednesday thereafter. The young gardeners will learn how to grow heirloom vegetables, fruit and some unusual crops, such as cotton and peanuts.

The garden plot is located on Gwinnett County property next to the Lanier Water Filter Plant, 2601 Buford Dam Road. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held for the garden June 5.
