Weekend Rain: Flash Flood Watch Through Sunday

Hurricane Joaquin may be headed away from the U.S., but the National Weather Service says heavy rain is in our forecast.

Flooding rain is possible this weekend, with 5 inches or more of rain expected in some places in north Georgia.

As a result, the National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Flash Flood Watch through Sunday for a large portion of east-central and northeast Georgia.

The advisory includes Gwinnett County, which sits on the western edge of the watch area.
