Weekend Repairs After Water Main Damage Will Close Part of Buford Hwy

The county said the highway will be closed this weekend between Lawrenceville-Suwanee and Westbrook roads near Suwanee.

Gwinnett County sent this advisory concerning the closure of a section of Buford Highway near Suwanee this weekend to allow for repair of pavement damaged by a water main break last month.

You should avoid the area this weekend.

WHAT: The northbound and southbound lanes of Buford Highway will be closed this weekend between Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road and Westbrook Road, weather permitting. The closure will begin Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at 9 p.m. This closure is needed to allow crews to replace a section of pavement damaged by a water main break last month. The road is expected to re-open by 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26.

WHO: Contractors for the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources will be conducting the repairs in coordination with the Georgia Department of Transportation.
