Animal Shelter Offers Free Microchipping For Dogs
Cherokee County residents must schedule an appointment to take advantage of the service that will be offered Jan. 22-25.

CANTON, GA — The Cherokee County Animal Shelter will offer a rare opportunity for you to get your dog microchipped at no cost.
The county agency will host a free microchipping clinic for dogs belonging to Cherokee County residents Jan. 22-25 at its facility at 1015 Univeter Road in Canton. Cats will be microchipped for $5 each.
Anyone who wants to take advantage of this service is required to make an appointment, the Animal Shelter said on its Facebook page. You can call 770-345-7270 or 678-493-4382 to schedule an appointment at either the Adoption or Intake building between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Owners will be required to show proof of residency, and pets must be on a leash or in a secure carrier to get the service. Please note that this initiative will be available while supplies last and appointments slots are available.
