Another Federal Holiday?
Some want to add another paid Federal holiday each year, how about tweeking what we have now instead?
ANOTHER FEDERAL HOLIDAY?
While we DO NOT need yet another Federal (paid) Holiday it would be possible to move the Nov 11th existing holiday to the election day which is always the Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
Existing rule now is "if November 11th (the legal public holiday for Veterans Day), falls on a Sunday. For most Federal employees, Monday, November 12, will be treated as a holiday for pay and leave purposes."

But we sure DO NOT need another Federal holiday in early November, just move Veterans Day by a few days and the issue is resolved.
