Canton Residents Can Dump Bulky Trash At City Hall

The city's Clean It Up Day is designed to help residents clear our old items as well as tackle so-called blighted properties.

The city of Canton will soon provide a way for residents to help clean out their homes and other properties.

The city’s Clean It Up Day! has been scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 6. The city will have dumpsters placed at Canton City Hall for its residents to utilize free of charge.

Additionally, throughout the month of June, Canton’s roll-off site located at 2525 Ridge Road will waive any fees for city residents who utilize the service.

The site’s hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Items accepted at both the June 6 collection day and the roll-off site include:

Old lumber
Household items (i.e. furniture, couches, chairs, tables, etc.)
Washers and dryers
Stoves
Dishwashers
Metal
Freezers and refrigerators (emptied – no food items)
Water Heaters
Carpet
Computers

Items not accepted are:

Commercial dumping
Household garbage
Food containers or drink containers
Dumping trash on ground
Paints, chemicals, or oils
Brush or leaves
Roof shingles

The collection drive is part of the city’s initiative to clean up so-called blighted properties in its boundaries. Residents can report these eyesores by visiting the city’s See Click Fix app on its homepage or by using the app on your smartphone. A list of support mobile platforms for the app can be viewed on its website.
