Cherokee Charter Academy celebrating National School Choice Week!
February 2, 2018
Canton, GA—Having choices in anything is an empowering feeling. When people have choices, they usually are afforded greater opportunities for success. As parents, we are glad to have the opportunity to choose the right type of school for our children. According to the National School Choice Week campaign, “Every child deserves an effective, challenging, and motivating education. Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders, and children should have the opportunity to achieve their own American dreams.”
School choice also means that parents broaden their access across the many different types of schools, such as traditional public schools, public charter and magnet schools, online academies, and homeschooling.

During National School Choice Week, students at CCA from grades K-8, all participated in creating thematic advertisements/billboards that celebrate and bring awareness to school choice.
Students and staff worked hand-in-hand creating their billboards, but more importantly, students got the opportunity to learn a little more about the importance of having and making choices.

Students learned that when parents are empowered to choose the educational environments they feel are best for their little ones, the little ones are more likely to succeed and graduate from high school. Graduating high school springboards students into greater opportunities of success when they get into the real world.
Overall, National School Choice Week helps spread the awareness to parents all across America that they do have a choice when it comes to finding the best possible education for their children. As the campaign picks up traction and parents begin to become more educated and aware of their choices, students, not just at CCA, but in schools all across America will benefit!
