Chase Massner: Funeral Set For Army Veteran

Human remains belonging to Massner, who was reported missing in 2014, were found Aug. 1 at a home in Cobb County.

CANTON, GA -- Funeral services for the Cherokee County Army veteran whose remains were recovered at a home in Cobb County will be held in the coming weeks at a private location. The service for Chase Massner is scheduled for a future date, according to his obituary posted by Darby Funeral Home.

Cobb County Police recovered human remains Aug. 1 at a home in the 500 block of Farmbrook Trail in Kennesaw, more than three years after Massner's family reported him missing. Those remains were later identified as belonging to Massner and James Bradshaw Clement, the former resident of the house, was charged with felony concealment of a death.

Police offered Clement the chance to turn himself in, but he opted to go on the run and was later captured at a shopping mall in DeKalb County. He remains held at the Cobb County Jail without bond (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).
