Cherokee Charter Academy Honors Veterans

Posters honoring veterans in the lives of students make for a beautiful tribute on this Veterans Day.

November 11, 2019 marked a special day for the students of Cherokee Charter Academy. Students paid tribute to veterans with posters highlighting their service. All posters were then placed along Sixes Road in front of the school and along the carpool line across the front of the building. The posters are done every other year and each time, continue to be a favorite among students and the community.

Family members were invited to a breakfast where some BETA Club students said the Pledge of Allegiance, the chorus sang the Star-Spangled Banner, and the band played a patriotic medley. Principal April Wallis also presented a donation check to David Snyder with Cherokee Veterans Community.

Following the breakfast, all K - 8 students lined up in front of the school and honored the veterans with cheers and applause as they walked across the parking lot. As a final gesture, veterans were given a bracelet and homemade card thanking them for their service.
