Cherokee County Promotes 5 Firefighters

​Five Cherokee County firefighters were promoted Monday night during ceremonies at Cherokee County Fire Training Complex.

From Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services: Five Cherokee County firefighters were promoted Monday night during ceremonies at Cherokee County Fire Training Complex, located south of Holly Springs.

John Carroll and Neal Caywood were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Carroll came to work at the fire department in 2004 and was promoted to Sergeant on May 26, 2013. Caywood was employed in 2006 and became a Sergeant on November 11th, 2010.

Attending the awards ceremony were: Cherokee County Fire Chief, Tim Prather, Lt. Neal Caywood, Lt. John Carrol, Sgt. Terrell Long, Sgt Shane Bedwell and Sgt. Todd Mullins, Assistant Fire Chief, Eddie Robinson and Field Operations Chief, Greg Erdely.

Promoted to the rank of Sergeant were Shane Bedwell, Terrell Long and Todd Mullins. Bedwell came to work for the department in 2010 and Long was hired in 2011. The other Sergeant, Mullins, came to work in 2007.

Numerous firefighters, chiefs and family members attended the event. Refreshments were held afterwards in honor of the promotions.
