Emergency Notification System Available For Cherokee Residents
CodeRED enables local public safety personnel to notify residents and businesses of emergencies or urgent notifications.
CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — In a time of emergency, seconds count, and Cherokee County residents can have emergency alerts sent directly to them in a timely fashion.
CodeRED is a web-based critical communication solution that enables local public safety personnel to notify residents and businesses by telephone, text message, and email of time-sensitive information, emergencies, or urgent notifications. The system can reach hundreds of thousands of individuals in minutes to ensure information such as evacuation notices, missing persons, inclement weather advisories, and more are quickly shared. Only authorized government officials have access to share alerts with the CodeRED system.
“Residents and businesses located within Cherokee County are encouraged to sign up for CodeRED to be sure they receive timely emergency notifications, important information and instructions when alerts are issued,” Cherokee EMA Director Craig Millsap said. “This is our way of notifying you in an emergency situation.”
