Free Adoptions This Week At Cherokee Animal Shelter

The Cherokee Animal Shelter is offering free adoptions on all pets through Saturday. Adoptions include vaccinations, spay/neuter, and more.

CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — Animals waiting for their forever home at the Cherokee County Animal Shelter may find their families soon after the shelter said it is not charging for any adoptions through Saturday.

All information on available pets can be found online. Adoptions include:

  • Initial vaccinations
  • Spay/neuter
  • Microchip
  • Dewormed
  • Flea/tick treatment
  • Heartworm or FELV/FIV testing
  • Free sample bag of food and other services

The shelter operates on the first come, first served method, and cannot put animals on hold.

Later this month, the shelter will be hosting a free microchipping event Nov. 19, 21-22. Walk-ins will be welcomed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at either location, 1015 Univeter Road or 131 Chattin Drive.

Then on Nov. 23, microchips will be by appointment only at the intake building, 131 Chattin Drive.

Pre-registration is preferred before arrival, and will significantly reduce the time for your visit. Pets must be on a leash or in a secure carrier.
