Chattahoochee Gold Offers Free Parent-Tot Swim Lessons

With summer comes the grim statistic that drowning kills more children between ages one and four than anything except birth defects (CDC).

Knowing the importance of swim instruction in keeping kids safe around the water, Gold Swimming wants to give back to the Cherokee community it’s served since 1996 by offering limited free Parent-Tot swim lessons to children two years of age.

These classes will be offered at 10 a.m. on three Fridays -- July 15, 22 and 29 -- at the Woodstock Aquatic Center in downtown Woodstock.

A parent or guardian must participate in the class with the child, with guidance from a professional Gold swim instructor.

Children will learn water safety skills and respect for the water. This instruction provides a solid foundation for future “learn to swim” classes and is designed to be fun as well as instructional. Many parents say these classes are a relaxing, fun experience for them and their child.

There are 25 spots available in each Friday session and can be reserved by calling Gold Swimming at (770) 591-1998.
