Residents who deeply value the great asset that is Allatoona Lake are invited to take part in the upcoming massive cleanup effort for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project.

The Great Lake Allatoona Clean-Up will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 12. A volunteer appreciation picnic will take place following the clean-up efforts, from noon to 2 p.m. at Riverside Day Use Park.
The park is located at 513 Allatoona Dam Road SE in Cartersville. Now in its 30th year, the clean-up is a volunteer-led efforts that seeks to enhance this community asset for all residents to enjoy. The initiaitve is a partnership of the Lake Allatoona Association, Army Corps of Engineers and local businesses.

More than 30 different local businesses contributed to the clean-up efforts last year. To consider making a contribution towards this year’s clean-up efforts, visit the association’s website or mail your checks to LAA/GLAC, PO 756, Acworth, GA 30101. Checks should be made payable to LAA/GLAC.
