Holly Springs Parkway To Close Until August
Starting March 19, the road will be closed between Home Depot and Rabbit Hill Road as part of a $3.2 million roadway improvement project.

HOLLY SPRINGS, GA — Motorists who rely on a segment of Holly Springs Parkway for their daily commute will have to find another route to get to and from where they are going. Starting Monday, March 19, Holly Springs Parkway will be closed between Home Depot and Rabbit Hill Road for an improvement project.
The city said the road will be closed until August to allow "sufficient time" for Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. to extend the culverts over Toonigh Creek and roll out much-needed improvements along the thoroughfare. Along with improving the culverts, the project calls for widening the road to include four travel lanes with a median, sidewalks and pedestrian lamps and traffic signals at the intersection of Holly Springs Parkway and Rabbit Hill Road. Improvements are also planned for Rabbit Hill Road from the Interstate 575 overpass to its Holly Springs Parkway intersection.
Council members at their Jan. 18 meeting awarded the $3.2 million contract to Baldwin Paving to widen Holly Springs Parkway from Home Depot to Rabbit Hill Road (For more news like this, find your local Patch here. A detour will be in place for motorists from Sixes Road to Exit 14 on I-575 for northbound traffic and the reverse for southbound traffic. Electronic sign boards and construction signage will alert motorists traveling on I-575 and Holly Springs Parkway of the upcoming road closure and will direct them to access the area north of Rabbit Hill Road through Exit 14.
