Here are a few options Canton residents can use to recycle dry Christmas trees after the holiday.
CANTON, GA — As we move away from the Christmas holiday, some residents may be looking to remove their Christmas trees. There are several ways to recycle your trees in Canton.
Fire officials recommend removing your tree after Christmas or when it is dry. The National Fire Protection Association says dried-out trees present a fire hazard and should not be left in homes or garages or placed against a home.
When you should remove the tree depends on when you got it, what condition it was in, and whether it was properly watered, according to the fire department.

The City of Canton is hosting its annual Bring One for the Chipper event to recycle Christmas trees.
Drop-off your live tree, without lights and decorations, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Dec. 28 - Jan. 30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays-Saturdays, at the Canton Collection Site, 2525 Ridge Road.

There will be no curbside pickup of trees. The mulch created from the recycled trees has been used for playgrounds and local government beautification.
