I-575 Accident Snarls Traffic Friday Morning
Traffic was delayed Friday morning due to an accident on I-575 near the Highway 92 bridge after two cars collided.
CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — Motorists traveling north on I-575 had a traffic delay this morning at 8 a.m. due to an accident that occurred just north of the Highway 92 bridge.
Dispatchers with Cherokee County 911 received multiple calls regarding the accident involving a white F-250 Ford truck that was hauling an enclosed trailer and a white Nissan Infinity automobile, Cherokee County Fire Department Director of Public Affairs Tim Cavender said. Cherokee County firefighters responded to the scene to find the trailer had come loose from the truck and was lying on its side. The Infinity was along the tree line further north, he said.
Two male passengers in the truck were complaining of leg pain, however, they refused transport to a hospital, Cavender said. The 33-year-old driver of the Infinity suffered no injuries. After the ambulance left the scene, they were called back later to transport one of the injured men to the hospital.
