Readers Choose Tellus

It appears that when you want to get away without really going away, you go to Cartersville.

In this week’s regional Readers’ Choice survey of staycation destinations, three of the top four vote-getters are Cartersville sites: , and .

And even though are in Cartersville Patch, commenters complained about a couple of the Cartersville sites we left off the list.

So it’s only fitting that this week’s Readers’ Choice for favorite staycation destination is in Cartersville: the Tellus museum.

in Douglasville Patch actually received the most votes, getting 27 percent. But we give equal weight to reviews and ratings of the directory listings, and Sweetwater Creek received none.

Tellus, which finished second in the poll, also finished second to the Booth museum in the number of five-star ratings this week. That combination gave Tellus the win.
