Reinhardt University Launches First Nursing Camp

The day camp is geared at giving high school junior and senior students a view into the world of nursing.

From Reinhardt University: Named for the modern founder of nursing, Florence Nightingale, the day camp is geared at giving high school students a view into the world of nursing. High school juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to learn about the profession by spending time with nurses and getting a glimpse into what nurses do in their daily routine. Campers will also explore Reinhardt’s campus. The camp is part of Reinhardt’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences.

“We hope students will come away with a greater understanding of the role of a nurse, how to prepare for going to college to be a nurse and an excitement for wanting to help people in the community by being a nurse,” said Dr. Glynis Blackard, dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The camp will be held July 20-21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Reinhardt University’s campus in Waleska. The registration form and $150 fee are due by July 15. For more information, visit www.reinhardt.edu/campnightingale.
