Riverfest Returns Sept. 29-30 To Etowah River Park

CANTON, GA — The Service League of Cherokee County is gearing up to present the 34th annual Riverfest Arts and Crafts Festival, a two-day event that's proven to be popular with area residents of all ages.

This year's festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 at Etowah River Park in Canton. This juried show features more than 200 arts and crafts exhibitors, entertainers, a children’s activities area and concessions filled with tasty treats.

The festival is the League's flagship fundraiser, and features original, creative, handmade work from artisans all over metro Atlanta and North Georgia.

The Service League of Cherokee County is one of the oldest service organizations in the county, with a membership of 100 women who work year-round, collectively volunteering more than 10,000 hours per year.

Funds raised during Riverfest, and other fundraising events sponsored by the League, provide families with day-to-day necessities such as food, clothing, dental care, eyeglasses, medical care, rental and utility assistance, scholarships and much more. The cost of entry is a $5 donation for adults and children age 11 and older, and kids 10 years old and younger will be admitted for free. Residents are asked not to bring coolers, bicycles, skateboards or alcoholic beverages.

Riverfest will be held rain or shine, and all areas surrounding the event location are handicap accessible. You will also be able to take advantage of free parking and shuttle services. Etowah River Park is at 600 Brown Industrial Parkway.
