V-Day Gift To Last A Lifetime: Plant A Tree

Canton's Tree Commission is giving away free seedlings of tons of types of trees during their Arbor Day Sale on Friday.

CANTON, GA — If you're looking for a great Valentine's Day gift, the Canton Tree Commission has an idea for you. Stop by Cannon Park and pick up a free seedling to plant for your loved one.

The Arbor Day Sale at Cannon Park runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15. Even though it's after the holiday, the gift will last a lifetime.

Sales at the park will go towards beautification projects by the Canton Tree Commission.

Anybody willing to plant them can get seedlings of tons of types of trees including: Virginia Pine, Sawtooth Oak, Crabapple, Persimmon, Crepe Myrtle, Dogwood, Redbud, Catalpa, Red Maple and Red Cedar.

They'll be selling a wide variety of plants, shrubs and fruit trees, all of which are provided by Hickory Flat's Buck Jones Nursery.
