2 Coronavirus Cases Confirmed At Bartow County Elementary Schools

The first COVID-19 case was announced Friday, March 20, and the second just Monday afternoon.

CARTERSVILLE, GA —The Bartow County School System announced two confirmed employee cases of the coronavirus over the past week. Both staff members work at elementary schools, which have been closed since March 16.

Last Friday, the district announced that a staff member from Hamilton Crossing Elementary School had a confirmed case of COVID-19. The second case, announced Monday afternoon, is of a staff member at Euharlee Elementary School.

"The Department of Public Health has a team of epidemiologists investigating and assisting in the notification of staff and students who were at risk for possible exposure," the district said in their announcement.

According to Bartow County Schools,the health department will contact anyone they believe is at risk of exposure from these cases by phone.

Neither case will affect the district's meal distribution plans, which currently include Hamilton Crossing Elementary as a pickup site.
