Amateur Chef From Cartersville Wins $250K On Fox TV Show

Dorian Hunter, from Cartersville, won the top prize on "MasterChef," the Fox TV competition hosted by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay: reports.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — A lady from Cartersville took the top prize this week on "MasterChef," the reality TV show on Fox that brings amateur chefs together from across the country to whip up tasty meals for a panel of judges.

Dorian Hunter, a textile worker, won $250,000 and training time with the judges, a panel of professional chefs led by Gordon Ramsay, the show's British host, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Ramsay announced Hunter's first-place finish on the episode that aired Wednesday night, Sept. 18, the finale of the 10th season of "MasterChef."

A few weeks ago, Hunter flew off to London with two other contestants to tape the finale, the show's 200th episode. She talked about her quest on the TV show with the AJC, saying that winning "MasterChef" will open doors for her.

On Wednesday night, Hunter gathered with her family and friends for a watch party for the "MasterChef" finale at TopGolf in Midtown Atlanta, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
