Antique Tractors, Petting Zoo Coming To Bartow History Museum
"Baked Goods and Backyard Farms" will bring an antique tractor show and fun family events on Saturday to the Bartow History Museum.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Bring your family and experience the Bartow History Museum in a new way from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 18. Join us for "Baked Goods and Backyard Farms," combining our annual bake sale fundraiser with an antique tractor show, photography exhibit, activities for the kids, farming-related lectures, and even a petting zoo.
All activities are free for museum members. For non-members, museum admission covers admission to the museum, presentations, crafts, barrel train rides and petting zoo. No admission is required to enter the bake sale (see admission fees below).
The Bartow History Museum is in the Old Bartow County Courthouse at 4 E. Church St. in historic downtown Cartersville (see map below). For more information, click here.

The day's events will kick off with the bake sale fundraiser at 10 a.m. Featuring baked goodies from local restaurants and friends of the museum, this event will be a great way to pick up a tasty treat while helping to support the museum. Participants include Grand Oaks, Table 20, Nola’s Bakery and more.
Also starting at 10 a.m. is the tractor show. Individuals from the Gordon County Antique Tractor and Engine Club will be showing their tractors. Whether rusty or newly painted, these machines are sure to capture the attention of young and old alike. Kids will be able to a ride on a barrel train, visit a petting zoo, and participate in other fun games and crafts.

Part of this year’s festival is the opening of the "Barns of Bartow County" photography exhibit. It will feature images of barns of Bartow County provided by members of the Booth Photography Guild. This is a juried show with a blue ribbon being awarded.
Guest speakers will share information on a number of farming topics:
- Maxine Sutton, who raises Alpine dairy goats under the herd names of Sutton Farm and Amy's Pride, will present on “Learn about the Milking Goat."
- Tina Evans, owner of Dry Creek Naturals, will speak on “Farm to Fashion.”
- Paul Pugliese, MPPPM, UGA Extension-Bartow County, county coordinator, will talk about “Growing Georgia Fruits” and “Fall Vegetable Gardening."
In addition, members of the Bartow County Master Gardeners Club will be on hand to answer your gardening questions and discuss their organization.

Everyone is invited to visit a new exhibit, "The Call of the Land," where they will see an assortment of items including farming tools, historic farm images and other artifacts related to farms, crops, agricultural clubs and fairs, and more. The temporary exhibit will remain open until Sept. 29.
Whether you have a sprouting interest in farming or just love reminiscing, we hope you will experience the museum on Saturday. The events are sponsored by AgGeorgia Farm Credit, the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitor’s Bureau and the Georgia Farm Bureau.

- Adults $6.50 (plus tax)
- Seniors (65+) $5.50 (plus tax)
- Students $5.50 (plus tax)
- Active Military* FREE
- Children 5 & Under FREE
- Group rates are available.
*Immediate family members of active military personnel may receive half-price museum admission with proper credentials.
