Missing Adairsville Man's Vehicle Found In Ga. River

HAWKINSVILLE, GA — The family of an Adairsville man are desperate for answers in the search for their loved one who went missing while visiting family members in Pulaski County.

The sheriff's office in the middle Georgia county is asking the public to help the agency locate Kevin Patterson, who was last seen on Jan. 23 in Hawkinsville, which is about 170 miles south of Cartersville.

According to the Facebook post created by family friend Stephanie Long, Patterson was supposed to visit his brother in the city but never arrived. He is about 6 feet tall and weighs between 135 and 150 pounds. He has short brown hair and brown eyes. The vehicle he was driving was found in the Ocmulgee River, the family friend told Patch. Patterson's last contact with family was between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Jan. 23.

According to WXIA, the doors and the trunk to Patterson's Toyota Avalon were open at the time of the discovery. Cameras in the area of the Mile Branch boat ramp where the vehicle was found showed the car rolling into the river and an unknown person walking into the woods nearby, the station added.

Patch has reached out to Pulaski County Sheriff Danny Brannen and left a message for the investigator to return our call, but we have not heard back from those officials.
