Bartow County Weekend Weather: Tornadoes Possible Thursday

Tornadoes are possible Thursday, the National Weather Service warns, but skies should clear up over the weekend itself.

BARTOW COUNTY, GA — We can expect showers and thunderstorms Thursday, partially as a result of Hurricane Harvey, with an 70 percent chance of precipitation.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook warning of the remnants of Hurricane Harvey coming to the area. Thursday, there will be a chance of severe storms, and possible tornadoes.

We can expect strong gusts of up to 30 miles per hour Thursday, especially in higher elevations. Lower elevations may experience flash flooding.

Today: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Patchy fog before 1pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 81. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tonight: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Southeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 80. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 60.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 84.
