Cartersville, Bartow Schools Make Decision on Weather For Jan. 9
BREAKING: Icy conditions continue to plague many roads throughout the county.
CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Due to treacherous road conditions throughout the area, both school systems that serve students in Bartow County have decided to call off classes for Monday.
Students will not have to report for their lessons Jan. 9 for the Cartersville City and Bartow County school systems.
However, Cartersville City Schools note 230-day and 240-day employees will be required to report for work if they are able to do so.

Additionally, the system will utilize Feb. 21, originally part of the system's Winter Break, as a make-up day for classes.
Bartow County schools also note its 12-month employees should also report to work "when possible." That school system hasn't indicated if it will use another day to make up the lost day in the calendar.
