Cartersville Comic Con Set For Sept. 15
The event will be held Saturday at the Clarence Brown Conference Center in Cartersville.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — If you're looking for a fun activity to do with like-minded individuals who like dress up in various costumes, then an event on Saturday, Sept. 15 could be right up your alley.
Organizers behind the Cartersville Comic Con will host its 2018 show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Clarence Brown Conference Center.
Tickets, which have sold out online, are $10 and will be available for purchase at the door. Kids 12 and under will be admitted for free. Cartersville Comic Con's gathering will include special guests, a cosplay contest and gaming tournaments. Door prizes will be drawn every hour starting at 11 a.m. and the annual charity raffle will also return to the show.

This year's featured local charity will be Iron Gait Percherons Draft Horse Rescue & Sanctuary, a Waleska-based organization that cares for and provides a safe space for abused horses. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5, and the raffle will be drawn every two hours, according to Cartersville Comic Con's Facebook page.

"The work that this great group of people (do) is truly amazing," the page added, referring to Iron Gate's mission. "We have been to several of their events, and seeing how they rehabilitate these animals after abuse or neglect is heartwarming."
One of this year's special guests will be Robert Brown, an artist known for his work with DC and Marvel. Cartersville Comic Con notes Brown is best known for his work with Chaos Comics on various titles and characters such as The Undertaker and Evil Ernie.
You can also expect to check out a slew of vendors selling comic art, books, clothing and accessories, vintage and modern toys, action figures and, of course, comics.
