Cartersville To Dismiss Classes Early For Football Championship
The Cartersville City School System will operate on a half-day schedule so enough buses are available to transport students to the game.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Students in the Cartersville City School System will operate on a half-day schedule next Wednesday when the Purple Hurricanes take on the Blessed Trinity Catholic High School Titans for the football championship.
The Cartersville High School Canes and Titans bill battle for the AAAA state championship title at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The game was rescheduled to next Wednesday due to Atlanta United's Dec. 8 contention for the Major League Soccer cup.
To ensure it has appropriate bus transportation to deliver all students participating in various roles for the game, the school system will hold a half-day of classes on Dec. 12.

Cartersville Primary and Elementary school students will release at 11:30 a.m. while Cartersville Middle and High school students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m., according to its Facebook page.

The system said this schedule will allow families who plan on attending the game to have adequate time to leave after early release dismissal and still arrive to the stadium prior to the start of the game
After-school care will be available to students who have regularly attended on Wednesdays during this school year. The after-school administrator will contact those parents directly with details. Any plans about buses to transport fans to and from the stadium will be made available by the school system as soon as they have that information available.
