Cartersville's TheatreExtreme Announces 2016-17 Season
The upcoming season sees the return of Comedy and Beer as well as plays, musicals and one-act shows.

TheatreExtreme opens its second season in Cartersville with “Comedy & Beer” at the City Loft on Saturday, July 22 at 8 p.m.
As always, a charity has been placed in the spotlight for a 50/50 raffle. This time around, the Charity Spotlight is the Georgia English Bulldog Rescue.
“We love the Charity Spotlight because it allows us to highlight a group that you might not know much about,” says Meghann K. Humphreys, executive director of TheatreExtreme. “Our hope is that audience members will look into that charity and consider supporting it in some manner.”

Humphreys said the July 22 will feature some aspects familiar to audience members, and improv games with outlandish scenarios and characters are sure to make appearances.
“We like to try different things with each of our shows to keep audiences guessing, but we will be returning to some of our tried-and-true shenanigans,” said Humphreys.

As for the other offerings this season, TheatreExtreme announced that they will perform a Tennessee Williams classic, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”, in September as their first main-stage show of the season. The group's two other main-stage shows for the season will be “Don’t Cry for Me, Margaret Mitchell” on Jan. 27, 28, 29 and Feb. 3 and 4, 2017, and “Detroit” on June 9, 10, 11, 16, and 17, 2017.
The shows take place at Stiles Auditorium, on the corner of School Street and West Cherokee Avenue.
“Comedy & Beer” will also return two other times at the City Loft this season: Nov. 4, 2016 at 8 p.m. and April 1, 2017 at 8 p.m. Readers Theatre and One-Act Plays are also in the works.
