CARTERSVILLE, GA — A celebration of life service for the Pine Log Elementary School student who lost her battle with cancer will be held on Saturday in Cartersville.

"Even in her passing, Eli is bringing people together to teach kindness, compassion, generosity, and strength," the school system said Thursday.

BCSS counselors spent Thursday providing additional support to Pine Log Elementary School family members who are grieving the lost of Eli. Over the next two weeks, every home room at Pine Log will be involved in a classroom activity that will focus on how they can remember Eli now and in the future.

The school system also said Pine Log Elementary will transform a hallway into a memory wall where students, families and community members can post pictures, stories and drawing remembering their "sweet, spunky" classmate.

In September, PLES and several other schools within the Bartow County School System held fundraisers for Elizabeth's family, raising more than $12,000. Donations are still coming in. If you would like to donate, please contact Pine Log Elementary School at (770) 606-5864.
