Cop Makes Large Meth Bust During Traffic Stop

ADAIRSVILLE, GA — An Adairsville police officer who conducted a traffic stop last week on a vehicle that ran a red light unearthed a large stash of suspected methamphetamine and other drugs.
Officer Cody Jones conducted the traffic stop on Wednesday, Jan. 30 on a vehicle that passed through the traffic signal on Ga. 140 and Georgia North Circle. While working through the stop, the officer learned the driver, Amanda Lynn Patterson, was allegedly operating the vehicle on a suspended license.
The passenger, identified as Jerry Dean Stutte, Jr., had a license, but Adairsville police said he was aware that Patterson was driving the car with a suspended license. Police observed the pair grew more nervous as the traffic stop carried on, and officers detained Patterson and Stutte they searched the vehicle.

Officers found more than 300 grams of meth, several syringes, and more than $760 in cash inside the passenger compartment of the car. The pair was placed under arrest and transported to the Bartow County Jail.

Upon arrival at the jail, Stutte was searched, and officers found several bags of suspected heroin, another bag of what appeared to be meth and a buprenorphine pill inside his underwear, Adairsville police said.
Stutte, a Kodak, Tennessee, resident, is charged with one count each of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug-related objects, knowingly permitting an unlicensed person to operate a motor vehicle, crossing the guard line with drugs possession of heroin and possession of a Schedule III drug.
Patterson, of Dandridge, Tennessee, was booked into the jail on charges of driving on a suspended license, failure to obey traffic control device, trafficking meth, possession of meth and possession of drug-related objects. Stutte and Patterson remain held without bond.
