Coronavirus: Cartersville City Updates Services, More

CARTERSVILLE, GA — The Cartersville city government released an update outlining several of the city's new regulations concerning the new coronavirus, all efforts taken to slow the spread of the virus.

Here's a list of their updates, released on March 16:

Customer Service for Utilities and Services

As of Monday, March 16, the city's Customer Service will not allow walk-in payments. They can all be made online at the Cartersville website. If that is not possible, payments can be made at the Customer Service office drop box, open 24/7.

Those who need utility service can apply here. Once completed, take it to the Customer Service window or email it to the bill pay system. Those with questions can call 770-387-5607.

Parks and Recreation

Effective immediately, all parks and recreation sports programs and activities are canceled or postponed, including tournaments, special events, gatherings and facility rentals. Those with rentals can expect to be contacted by the department regarding refunds. For more information, call 770-387-5626.

Utilities and Other City Services

No changes are being made to Public Works operations, but city officials are creating a plan in the case that the workforce is reduced in the coming weeks.

Public Access

City officials are limiting access to city buildings not necessary for public access.

The Welcome Center

The DDA Welcome Center will be closed March 16 through March 23, and more closures may be added.

Municipal Court

All court proceedings are postponed until April 13. Future dates will be reassessed. For questions, call 770-607-6307.
