Detour Scheduled Thursday At Rail Crossing Near White
Expect delays on SR 140 on Thursday as Bartow County traffic is detoured for maintenance work at a CSX railroad crossing, says GDOT.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is cautioning motorists in Bartow County about a detour Thursday off State Route (SR) 140 at the CSX Railroad crossing to accommodate work by the railroad to upgrade the crossing. The highway at this location will be closed and traffic redirected onto Interstate 75 and U.S. 411, the department said.
The railroad maintenance project and the road closure it requires are weather permitting and subject to change.
“We understand that the closure of SR 140 at this location may cause some inconvenience and delays, but it is necessary for repairing the crossing as quickly as possible, and giving the roadway back to the traveling public,” said Grant Waldrop, district engineer at the GDOT office in Cartersville, in a GDOT statement.
