Disabled Archery Deer Hunt Set For Dec. 19-20

Hunting blinds can be made by reservation only, and limited to hunters permanently confined to a wheelchair or Purple Heart recipients.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Next month, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District will host an archery-only deer hunt for disabled hunters at its Allatoona Lake Project Dec. 19-20.

Hunting blinds will be provided throughout McKinney Campground at 6659 McKinney Campground Road in Acworth.

The use of each hunting blind will be by reservation only, and limited to hunters permanently confined to a wheelchair or Purple Heart recipients.

A non-hunting assistant may accompany each disabled hunter, and each hunter must possess a valid Georgia Big Game license.

Requests for reservations will be taken by phone or in person Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 17 through Nov. 4.
