Electric Company Imposter Targets Elderly Cartersville Woman
A woman ask to see the backyard for a new power pole in the area and talked to the victim about 10 minutes.

A local elderly woman believes a woman posing as Cartersville Electric Department worker diverted her attention Wednseday evening while her home was burglarized.
City of Cartersville officials issued a warning to residents Friday: That "some people have recently pretended to be utility workers to gain access to people's homes and then robbed them."
Cartersville Police Department officers Thursday received a report from the 84-year-old South Bartow Street resident, who said several pieces of her jewelry were missing, according to the incident report, above.

The victim said the power company imposture came Wednesday between 7 and 8 p.m. and asked to see the back yard, which took about 10 minutes, because the city was looking to place a new power pole in the area.
The woman then pretended to call a coworker about a mailer she told the victim she should have received, then left.
The next morning, the victim noticed the jewelry, including a necklace, ring and earrings, were gone, and called police.
