Free Meals Offered For Kids At Bartow Schools, Bus Stops
Meals for kids will be dropped off by buses at bus stops for those who register. They can be picked up at schools, too.
BARTOW COUNTY, GA — The Bartow County School System is going to deliver meals by bus to existing bus stop locations amid school closure during the outbreak of the new coronavirus. All children, ages 18 and younger, can get meals.
Weekly registration for the service is required. School officials said families had to register by March 16, but noted late registration is accepted.
The service starts Wednesday, March 18.

Starting Tuesday, school officials are offering free meal pick up for children 18 and under. Federal guidelines dictate that children must be present to receive meals.

Meals will be distributed at:
- Adairsville Elementary School
- Hamilton Crossing Elementary School
- Cloverleaf Elementary School
- Emerson Elementary School
The pick up service will run from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. when food service staff and volunteers will bring bag lunches and snacks to vehicles. There's no registration needed for this service.
"Special thanks to our Nutrition staff, Transportation Department, and volunteers for working hard to feed our children during this coronavirus outbreak. This is yet another example of how caring and supportive our community is when any need, big or small, arises," school officials said on the Bartow schools Facebook page.
