Funeral On Friday For Teen Killed In Bartow Wreck

CARTERSVILLE, GA — The funeral for the Rome woman who died Tuesday in a fatal accident in Bartow County will be held on Friday. Friends and family will bid farewell to Emily Lauren Brown, 18, at a funeral service scheduled for 2 p.m. June 1 at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home South Chapel, according to her obituary.

Brown was traveling westbound on U.S. 411/Ga. 20 at Hamilton Crossing Road when she lost control of her vehicle. The car begin rotating clockwise, traveled off the northside of the highway, struck two trees and continued rotating clockwise until it came to a stop facing southbound, the Georgia State Patrol previously told Patch.

Bartow County EMS and Fire Department crews were dispatched to the scene and assessed Brown, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the collision.

According to her obituary, Brown was born July 15, 1999, in Fort Payne, Alabama. She graduated from Coosa High School in 2017 and studied healthcare at the College and Career Academy. An accomplished artist and of the Baptist faith, Brown was preceded in death by a sister, Aubree Chambers, her obit adds.

She is survived by parents, Julie and David Chambers of Rome; her father, Jeremy Brown of Cedar Bluff, AL; her sister, Madison Brown of Rome; her fiancé, Storm Garrett of Rome; her maternal grandmother, Paula Tucker (Steve) of Cedar Bluff, AL; her maternal grandfather, Robert Winston Johnson of Centre, AL; her maternal great grandmother, Clesten Early of Rome; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of the service on Friday at the funeral home. She will be buried at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
