WOODSTOCK, GA — A funeral service will be held Monday evening for a grandmother and her grandchild who died Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Adairsville. The service for Nancy Evans and Andrew Evans, 6, will be held at 7 p.m. July 30 at Lakeside Funeral Home in Woodstock. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the funeral, which will be officiated by Pastor Gary Lamb.

Evans and her grandson were among four people who died in an accident at the Ga. 140-Towe Chapel Road intersection in Bartow County. According to the Georgia State Patrol, a beige 1996 Toyota Avalon failed to stop at a stop sign on Towe Chapel Road at Ga. 140 between Adairsville and Rydal. The Toyota entered the roadway and crossed into the path of a green 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck. The truck, GSP said, crashed into the driver side of the Toyota Avalon.

Three occupants inside the truck were transported to Cartersville Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Unfortunately, all four occupants of the Toyota died of injuries sustained in the crash. Along with Nancy Evans and her grandson, Cartersville resident Shannon Hartsfield, 41, and Richie Willis, 36, of Adairsville also died in the collision.
